Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are locked in a four way battle with Italian giants Fiorentina for the signature of Sevilla defender Federico Fazio.
This is according to those in the know at talkSPORT who have stopped by for a quick pint in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The 27-year-old centre back is believed to be on the radar of several top European clubs, after establishing himself as a reliable and classy defender over the past couple of seasons in La Liga.
Southampton, Everton and Liverpool are all understood to have previously expressed an interest in the Argentine defender, whilst Fazio’s form this season has taken Sevilla to the brink of Champions League qualification, as well as the last eight of the Europa League.
Catalan giants Barcelona had previously been linked, and Sevilla team-mate Diego Perotti admitted that Fazio was good enough to play week in week out at the Camp Nou.
However, the transfer ban placed on Barcelona could open the door for the Premier League trio of United, Arsenal and Tottenham, although Serie A giants Fiorentina are prepared to fight tooth and nail to bring the defender to Florence this summer.
Manchester United boss David Moyes is desperate to sign a centre back as soon as possible, with Nemanja Vidic having already agreed a deal to join Inter Milan at the end of the season, and Rio Ferdinand also likely to move on.
Where do you see Federico Fazio ending up this summer or will he opt to remain with Sevilla? Let us know your thoughts below.
