Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have turned their attention to Italy after rumours surfaced that the Red Devils want to lure away a top Serie A midfielder.
talkSPORT claim that Roma President James Palotta is confident of securing Miralem Pjanic’s services on a long-term basis but has admitted that they have a fight on their hands.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina playmaker has had a stellar season in Serie A season and it’s unsurprisingly seen many top European sides take note – including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old only has just over a year left on his contract and Roma’s bosses are expected to put a deal forward before the World Cup.
Otherwise, a superb World Cup could potentially see more suitors turn up to lure him away from Italy.
But Roma have insisted that Pjanic is going nowhere and that contract renewals have been discussed with the midfielder and his advisors.
But it is still to be seen whether he will sign the deal or whether Manchester United will swoop to tempt the former Metz and Lyon player.
Manchester United fans. Should you try and turn Pjanic’s head before he signs a contract or is there better candidates out there? Let us know your thoughts below.
