Serie A giants fancy adding Chelsea star to their ranks

John Obi MikelThere is a feeling of acceptance from the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Football Tavern this evening with the news that John Obi Mikel is likely to move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Mirror claim that the Nigerian international is a target for Italian giants Inter Milan.

Mikel’s arrival in England was somewhat controversial after Manchester United and Chelsea had a more than public spat regarding the Nigerian after claiming they BOTH signed the youngster from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo.

He’s been with the West London club for eight years but he has recently fallen behind January transfer signing Nemanja Matic in central midfield and he looks set to move on as he hunts for first team action.

Despite still having three years to run on his contract, he has found his appearances somewhat limited this campaign and has started just ten Premier League games this season although he has made 13 appearances as a sub.

Inter Milan have also targetted Manchester City midfielder Javi Garcia and Tottenham midfielder Sandro but the Italian side could struggle to land any of the three candidates away after failing to land Champions League football for next season.

In fact Inter are still yet to obtain Europa League qualification this season after an erratic campaign.

Chelsea fans. Will you be upset to see Mikel depart SW6 or will Matic make you forget about the Nigerian rather quickly? Let us know your thoughts below.
