Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern cannot make up their minds about the latest claim in Metro and if they think it is a good thing or not.
The publication has claimed that Erik Lamela will be staying at the club, not only that, but that Spurs flat out refused to entertain an approach from Inter Milan who were very keen on the player.
So much so that they have publicly lamented the fact they cannot land the Argentine with Sporting Director Piero Ausilio claiming: “Lamela is a dream that we haven’t been given a chance to realise, simply because Tottenham don’t want to put him on the market.”
One of our punters notes that Lamela may have flopped last season but he did not get much support from Tim Sherwood. The Argentine international can expect significantly more from national compatriot and new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Lamela is currently back in Argentina working on his fitness ahead of next season and is preparing to show why Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy broke the bank for him.
Spurs fans. Would you have cashed in on the player or is it time to really get behind him and see what a fit Lamela can do in the Premier League next season? Let us know your thoughts below.
