Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern were very relieved to see their side leave Sunderland’s Stadium of Light with three points on Saturday evening.
Falling behind to an early Craig Gardner goal after some kamikaze defending from his defence, David Moyes would have been delighted to see youngster Adnan Januzaj take centre stage as he struck a superb brace to end a run of three games without a victory for the Red Devils.
However the poor performance of long serving centre-back Nemanjc Vidic would have been a worry and with the 31-year-old’s contract running out in the summer speculation is starting to increase that he could be playing his final season at Old Trafford.
The Serbian was at fault for the goal that gave the Black Cats the lead on Saturday and his performances have notably dropped this term.
talkSPORT now report that Juventus could rival AC Milan for his signature at the end of the season and are keen to attract him to Turin with a four-year deal worth £3.3 million a season.
David Moyes remains confident that Vidic will turn his form around and wants to see him stay at Old Trafford but it could soon be time for the former Spartak Moscow man to move on.
One punter in the tavern suggest that United should look at replacing both Vidic and Rio Ferdinand in the summer as United’s poor start to the season continues with club currently in ninth position in the Premier League.
Is it time for United to move on from Vidic and Ferdinand? Let us know your thoughts below.
