Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are reading today’s edition of The Mirror and are now aware of the news that Inter Milan are hoping to land Joel Campbell in January.
Any deal would see the Costa Rican international join the Italian giants on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the move permanent for £7 million.
The 22-year-old is frustrated with his current situation at the club after the lack of first team football after returning as one of brightest young stars of the summer’s World Cup.
It now seems that the Serie A giants are looking to capitalise on his unhappy situation with the Nerazzurri having already contacted Campbell’s representatives.
It is now a matter of time as to whether or not Arsene Wenger will give the move the all clear.
However, this leaves Wenger in a tough situation because the Costa Rican is not the only unhappy striker at Arsenal with Lukas Podolski also reiterating that he is prepared to leave in January for the same reasons regarding a lack of regular first team chances.
Punters feel Wenger is only going to allow one of them to leave the Emirates Stadium or else he would be forced to sign another attacking option as well as some much needed defensive reinforcements.
Arsenal fans. If you had to pick which striker had to stay at the club – Campbell or Podolski – which one would it be? Let us know your thoughts below.
