It’s happy hour in the Football Transfer Tavern as our punters let their hair down with the working week starting to draw to a close.
Tottenham supporters have been left interested by the latest speculation in the bar.
The Mirror report that Juventus will offer Mirko Vucinic in exchange for Tottenham outcast Erik Lamela, less than six months after the £30 million man arrived at White Hart Lane.
The paper indicates that Juventus are chasing Lamela, who has struggled since his big money switch from Roma. Juve would even consider including striker Mirko Vucunic as part of the deal to tempt the Lilywhites to let him depart so soon after arriving.
If the 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who was brought into replace Real Madrid bound Gareth Bale, leaves it could cause a lose of face for chairman Daniel Levy.
The Argentine has only started three matches in the Premier League, scoring his solo goal during their Europa League win over minnows Sheriff.
New Spurs manager Tim Sherwood has followed his predecessor in being unimpressed with Lamela and now the pressure is on the attacker to secure a place in this country’s World Cup squad.
His father Jose even said: “Erik is not happy and wants to go back to Italy. He has been linked with Lazio, but I don’t know anything about this. Could he re-join Roma? I don’t know.”
Lamela’s dad added: “Tottenham does not want him to leave in January.”
Punters at the bar feel that Lamela deserves longer to prove himself at White Hart Lane but including the Juve ace would certainly be a positive for any possible deal.
