The Mirror reveal that Napoli have been quick to quash rumours linking them with Liverpool’s out of form striker Mario Balotelli with the fee reported to be £10 million.
It is well known that former Reds boss Rafael Benitez intends to raid the Premier League in January in an attempt to strengthen his Serie A outfit.
But he has no chance of signing the 24-year-old who has only netted twice for Liverpool in 12 games since joining from AC Milan in the summer.
This stat has also sparked speculation linking the Italian with a move away from the Premier League as he seeks to rediscover his form.
However it was Napoli’s sporting director, Riccardo Bigon, who ended the speculation that the former Manchester City forward could be quick to return to his homeland.
“It’s a rumour told in Spain, England and Italy but I don’t think it is a possibility,” said Bigon.
“Nothing of what has been posted is true.
“Mario Balotelli is a really great player but he has been just signed by Liverpool who believes a lot in him.
“Best wishes to him in his English adventure.”
