Serie A schemer wanted as Manchester United’s third signing

Arturo Vidal

There’s no live football action today but fans are still flocking into the Football Transfer Tavern nevertheless.

And the place still has a certain World Cup scent to it with the news that one of Chile’s star men is attracting the interest of a top Premier League club.

According to today’s copy of the Daily Star, Manchester United are planning to test Juventus’ resolve by placing a bid for their key midfield man Arturo Vidal.

Vidal, who is currently in Brazil representing fellow South American side Chile, was a revelation in Serie A last season and has become one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the world.

Louis van Gaal is planning on dipping into his transfer fund again, following the signings of Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera, by offering £30 million for the 27-year old.

The Manchester club are also said to be interested in former Red Devil Paul Pogba but have been put on alert by Vidal after the Chilean reportedly revealed he was ready to leave Turin.
