There are interesting reports in the Football Transfer Tavern today.
The Express reports that Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has confirmed his interest in making a switch to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old, who has enjoyed an impressive start to the season with the Serie A club, has been strongly linked with a move away from the Rome-based outfit in the near future.
The Reds’ Merseyside rivals Everton are believed to be tracking the Nigerian international, who played for his country at Craven Cottage on Monday, but Anfield scouts were also thought to be at the friendly against Italy in West London.
The midfield man has been compared to former Premier League star Jay-Jay Okocha with his strong eye for goal and is also being monitored by Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin who both reportedly saw bids rejected for the youngster during the summer.
And it seems that should a move become a possibility, Onazi would be interested in transferring to Liverpool.
He said: “I would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League.
“Liverpool? They are a huge team and are attractive to any footballer. I could see myself playing for them.”
Brendan Rodgers will be looking to strengthen his side in January window and with a reported £6 million fee, he could represent good value in the transfer market.
