Tony Pulis’ side are still rather short of major signings this summer as they prepare for a third season in the top flight.
Joe Ledley has become the latest man to snub the Potters by opting to join Celtic instead. The former Cardiff midfielder had been on the brink of penning a four year deal at the Britannia before having a last minute change of heart – prompted no doubt by the £1.25m annual salary being dangled in front of him north of the border.
Stoke have won the race to sign Pompey midfielder Florent Cuvelier, however, beating off interest from Man. City, Tottenham and Fulham to secure the 17-year-old Belgian Youth International’s signature.
Left back Carl Dickinson has expressed a desire to leave the Premiership outfield in order to play regular first team football after failing to break into the Potters’ first team and being shipped out on loan to Barnsley last season. Preston and Sheffield United are favourites to land the 23-year-old defender who is expected to command a fee in the region of £500,000.
