Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are divided at the moment, amid news AC Milan are targeting the north Londoners’ club-record signing Moussa Sissoko.
The Spurs punters at the bar can’t wait to see the Frenchman leave, having struggled to impact since his summer arrival from Newcastle, but the Lilywhites patrons over by the fruit machine reckon he’s still a useful member of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad.
Indeed, for a player already proven in the Premier League from several campaigns at St. James’ Park, Sissoko has undoubtedly underwhelmed this season, picking up only six starts in the top flight.
Nonetheless, he’s featured more prominently in the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup – which is part of the reason why Jan Vertonghen can claim Spurs are capable of fighting it out on three fronts this term.
Regardless, the 27-year-old has simply failed to forge himself a clear role in the starting XI and that suggests, despite costing a cool £30million last summer, his Tottenham career could already be coming to a close.
And Mirror Football claim the Euro 2016 finalist has now emerged as a transfer target for Serie A giants AC Milan, who have a knack of attracting high-profile players to the San Siro even if they’re not enjoying the best of form.
However, more developments could follow in the coming weeks, with Rossoneri said to be ‘amongst a number of clubs’ monitoring Sissoko’s situation at White Hart Lane.
