Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing whether they should approve a sale of a defender, amid reports of interest from the continent.
Seville-based newspaper Estadio Deportivo state that Sevilla are looking to re-sign Tottenham defender Federico Fazio in January, having sold the player to the Premier League side in the summer of 2014.
Fazio was in and out of the first-team last season but this time around the 28-year-old Argentine has been completely frozen out, with Toby Alderweireld’s arrival making him fourth-choice centre-back behind the Belgian, Jan Vertonghen and Kevin Wimmer.
The same paper reports Sevilla made a late-bid to resign Fazio in the summer, which was rejected, but Tottenham are more likely to agree to a deal now with Fazio not being deemed useful enough for the squad.
Chairman Daniel Levy is a notoriously shrewd negotiator though and Spurs are only likely to sell on their terms, which could prove to be difficult for Sevilla, but the player is likely to want to return to the Spanish side.
Spurs fans, should Fazio be allowed to leave? Let us know in the comments below!
