Sevilla set to make move for Liverpool midfielder, if Manchester United secure deal for Argentine

Bring back Joe Allen The Liverpool supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are still on cloud nine following their 5-4 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund last night, a game in which they needed to score three goals in 25 minutes at one point.

The win sets up a semi-final and the club can now realistically dream of a place in the Champions League for next season, with the winners claiming such a mammoth prize.

Some potentially negative news has emerged on the transfer front this morning courtesy of the landlord’s copy of the Sun via the Daily Express, who are claiming that Reds midfielder Joe Allen could be set for a summer departure with La Liga outfit Sevilla keen on the Wales international.

A move for Allen would all depend on whether Manchester United choose to press ahead with a move for midfielder Ever Banega, with Sevilla identifying Allen as a like-for-like replacement.

One Liverpool fan is nursing a beast of a hangover here in the  Tavern and he believes Allen will be offloaded in the summer, stating that Jurgen Klopp will target a couple of midfielders which could leave the 26-year-old surplus to requirements.

Liverpool fans, would you like to see Allen stay at the club? Who should replace him, if he leaves?
