The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Alan Pardew has been sacked by West Brom after winning just one league game out of the 18 he took charge of and losing his last eight games on the spin. Pardew was in charge at Newcastle United from 2010 to 2014 and the fans don’t look back on his time at the club fondly.

The news of Pardew’s bow at The Hawthorns has left a number of Geordies in our bar smiling. Despite the fact that Pardew had Newcastle playing European football in the 2012/13 season after finishing 5th in the 2011/12 season, the fans can’t stand the sight of the former Crystal Palace, West Ham and Charlton manager. The only regret for the Newcastle fans is that they didn’t get a chance to welcome the 56-year-old to St James Park when West Brom travel to Newcastle at the end of the month.
Alan Pardew was brought into the Hawthorns in late November last year with the task of keeping the Baggies up. However, in just 18 games he’s pretty much confirmed their relegation from the Premier League after picking up just nine points. The West Brom faithful will be ruing their club’s decision to bring the controversial manager to the helm of the club as the games came and went without the club picking up points. West Brom now sit ten points away from safety with just six games remaining and could have their relegation confirmed at their visit to St James Park at the end of April.

Alan Pardew's #NUFC contract would still have two years and five months to run. Still can't fathom that decision.

Never has a fanbase been so vindicated in their criticism of a manager than us with Alan Pardew.

It amazes me how the likes of Pardew and McClaren continue to be employed – their track records are absolutely abysmal!
Their next victim awaits…

No, Alan Pardew, come back! We wanted to mathematically relegate you at SJP and now you’ve denied us the pleasure!#NUFC

In hindsight, every #nufc fan, including myself, should take a look at themselves and admit how wrong they were about Pardew. He was even worse than we thought
