‘Shambles’, ‘Liability’ – Everton fans take aim at one man following Apollon draw

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern were left to bemoan their side’s disappointing Europa League form on Thursday night following another game without a win.

Ronald Koeman’s men were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Atalanta in their first group game a fortnight ago, but would have viewed a home clash against Cypriot side Apollon Limassol as an opportunity to get that elusive victory.

However, the Toffees’ poor run of form in all competitions continued after only mustering a 2-2 draw against the top-flight side on Thursday, who ended the contest with ten men following a late red card to Valentin Roberge.

The visitors went ahead before goals from Wayne Rooney and Nikola Vlasic gave Koeman’s side the initiative, only for a late Hector Yuste header to seal a point for Apollon, who just two minutes earlier were reduced to ten men following Valentin’s alleged stamp on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

All in all, it was another frustrating evening for the Goodison Park faithful and several of our resident Evertonians were again disappointed by their side’s performance, with many taking to Twitter to express their views on the encounter.

And one Everton player in particular came in for much criticism on the social media website…
