Billy Sharp is available for selection for Sheffield United as they take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Is Chris Wilder too harsh on his teams sometimes?
The striker has missed the Blades last three matches through suspension, following his red card against Southampton in September.
Whilst Chris Wilder’s side did beat Everton 2-0 without their captain, they also suffered back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup and Liverpool in the Premier League.
The South Yorkshire side have plenty of options in terms of strikers, with the likes of Lys Mousset, Oliver McBurnie, Callum Robinson and David McGoldrick all in the squad.
However, none are quite like Sharp, who has proven down the years that he is one of the best poachers around. Indeed, the 33-year-old has scored 239 goals in his career, with 103 of those coming for the Blades (via Transfermarkt).
In fact, he is so prolific that he is actually the leading English league goalscorer this century and he certainly gives Sheffield United more of a threat going forward.
Whilst he may not start against the Hornets, having a player with as good a record as Sharp’s on the bench is a great option to have for Wilder. He has already utilised him against Bournemouth on the opening day when he came on and grabbed an 88th-minute equaliser.
Sharp is a firm fan favourite at Bramall Lane – he is, of course, a self-confessed Blades fan himself. Naturally, the supporters are delighted to have him back for the trip to Watford.
Here is what some of them have been saying on Twitter about his potential return to action…
