Sheffield United fans on Twitter demand Dean Henderson deal as promotion’s confirmed

Dean Henderson has been key to Sheffield United’s season as they’ve won promotion. The young goalkeeper has done an incredible job in the net this season as the Blades have become a Premier League side once again. Now, though, the fans are calling for the Manchester United loanee to join Bramall Lane on a permanent contract.

Sometimes, achieving a league title or promotion without playing can be underwhelming, but that is simply not the case here. Sheffield United’s players and fans will have been cheering on Aston Villa today even though they pretty much guaranteed their place in the top two when they won yesterday. Goal difference could have been an issue, but Leeds’ draw means it’s not and the Blades are celebrating.
Part of Henderson’s celebration was to take to Twitter with a quick but simple message for his haters, and the Blades have loved it as they’ve been begging for the young shot-stopper to make his current loan deal a permanent one. It wouldn’t be a bad move if he did sign a long-term deal at Bramall Lane and it would give the 22-year-old the promise of first-team football in the Premier League, something his parent club can’t realistically offer the shot-stopper.

The Blades will be desperate to see Henderson sign a permanent deal at Sheffield United this summer and would feel a lot better about their chances if Premier League survival with the 22-year-old in the side.
