Sheffield United's Bramall Lane has the best atmosphere in British football, that is according to footballgroundmap.com.

The website allows users to keep track of which grounds they have visited, and also enables supporters to rank them based on certain criteria, one of which is the atmosphere.

And it is the Blades' home stadium which has come out on top, with a four star rating from over 59,000 visits.

Portsmouth's Fratton Park and Leeds United's Elland Road were second and third respectively, whilst Hillsborough, the home of Sheffield United's bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday, didn't even rank inside the top 99.

Other iconic stadiums made the list including Anfield which was 17th and Ibrox which was 29th, but none can beat Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United supporters have certainly had plenty to shout about in recent years. They won the League One title in the 16/17 campaign (Sky Sports) and then earned promotion to the Premier League last season (BBC Sport).

They have already welcomed the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal to Bramall Lane this term, and managed to beat the latter 1-0 in a match under the lights on a Monday night where the crowd certainly made plenty of noise (BBC Sport).

Blades fans have been reacting to the news that they apparently create a better home atmosphere than any other fans in Britain, with most suggesting that they are not surprised.
