Sheffield United currently find themselves in third position in the Championship, with three points separating them from a place in the automatic promotion places.
The Blades have only won one of their last three Championship fixtures, so they’ll be desperate to build some momentum by getting the better of Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
However, it appears as if Chris Wilder is currently looking at a potential addition, as according to Sky Sports, Sheffield United are one of two teams leading the race to sign Scott Hogan.
Aston Villa are willing to let Scott Hogan leave on loan before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
And, as it stands, Sheffield United and Bristol City are currently leading the race to secure his services this month.
Scott Hogan was prolific during his playing days at Brentford and he produced moments of brilliance at times last season at Villa Park, so he could turn out to be a key promotion ingredient for the Blades.
Scott Hogan, who is valued at £4.5 million (by Transfermarkt), has struggled to work his way into Dean Smith’s plans since he took charge at Villa Park, which has opened the door for him to depart this month.
The Republic of Ireland international can provide pace and a deadly finishing ability, which will definitely come in handy for the Blades as their current batch of forwards aren’t exactly blessed with large amounts of pace.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
