Sheffield United: Blades fans react to Chris Basham’s highlight reel

Loads of Sheffield United supporters reacted to a post from the club’s official Twitter account showing footage of Chris Basham’s impressive performance against Bournemouth.
The veteran put in a shift all over the pitch, harrying Cherries players in the box, and playing some eye-catching long balls. His contributions helped the Blades mount a comeback and beat Eddie Howe’s team 2-1 at Bramall Lane, thanks to goals from Billy Sharp and John Lundstram.
Having moved to Bramall Lane from Blackpool on a free transfer all the way back in 2014, the 31-year-old has been with the South Yorkshire outfit from the very doldrums of League One right the way through to the lofty heights of the Premier League. Basham has played in 28 games in the English top flight for Chris Wilder’s side, making 2.2 tackles per game, averaging 2.2 interceptions, and completing a staggering 4.5 clearances on average so far (via WhoScored).
The versatile Englishman is affectionately known as ‘Bash’ amongst the United faithful.
Given his displays over the course of the season, it is hardly surprising the tweet received plenty of replies from the SUFC fan base. A couple of supporters described Basham as “class” and “outstanding,” while another labelled him as an “unsung hero.”

He's becoming as legendary as Morgan, Colqhuoun, Beesley and Stancliffe, if not better.

Bash has been absolutely outstanding.

Unsung hero. It’ll take a good few quid to replace him when the time comes. Calling him a club legend would not be out of place 👏👏👏👏
