Sheffield United: Fans delighted for Oliver McBurnie after Manchester United goal

Sheffield United produced a stunning performance against Manchester United at Bramall Lane on Sunday, holding the Red Devils to a 3-3 draw (BBC Sport).
The Blades had actually raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from John Fleck and Lys Mousset, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side managed to score three times in eight minutes to go 3-2 up.
Is Lys Mousset one of the bargains of the season?
Yes

No

It looked as though the three points were heading back to Old Trafford, but substitute Oliver McBurnie managed to beat David de Gea in the 90th minute to secure a point for Chris Wilder’s team.
The Scottish international has struggled for form a little of late and, prior to the game against Manchester United, he hadn’t scored in any of his last seven Premier League appearances (Transfermarkt).
He is the club’s record signing after joining from Swansea City for a deal worth up to £20 million (BBC Sport), but his lack of goals have seen him fall behind Mousset and David McGoldrick in the pecking order recently.
He managed to make quite the impact against United, though, and several fans on Twitter were delighted that he was able to end his barren spell on Sunday and silence some of his critics…
Calmed down slightly. Still feel we should have come away with 3 points but that just shows how far we’ve come. Nice to see McBurnie step up when needed. #sufc

In the midst of all the VAR nonsense, it was actually a really good finish from McBurnie. Reminiscent of the goals he used to put away for Swansea and the reason I was delighted when the Blades signed him. Gonna be a pivotal player for us in time #SUFCvMUFC #SUFC

Hopefully tonight should silence the people who scapegoat McBurnie for a while. Genuinely shocked that my dad and many others were blaming McBurnie for all 3 goals. Really is laughable #sufc #twitterblades

On another note. Mcburnie is a ‘Proven’ finisher, Not a work horse, hes not gonna hunt the ball accross the back 4 like Moose. Think he will soon win a few round after a few more opportunities #sufc #twitterblades
