Many Sheffield United supporters reacted to tweets from the club’s official account showing the first team celebrating their famous League One title victory, as Wednesday marked three years to the day since the Blades were crowned champions of the English third tier.
Following six long years in the lower division, local hero Chris Wilder guided his side to the top of the table, winning the league with 100 points.
The South Yorkshire outfit comfortably won the title with three games to spare after second-placed Bolton Wanderers slumped to a 1-0 defeat away to Oldham (Sky Sports).
Given the responses so far, it is fair to say most fans will never forget the famous victory. One supporter dubbed the pictures as “legendary scenes” and another gleefully remembered the team “just steamrolled sides week in week out home and away.”

Getting out of League One was like being pulled out of quicksand. Getting into the Prem was like being placed on a pedestal.

Bottom of the league after 4 games. Won the league with 3 games to go, some of the football played was excellent. Rate enjoyed that season, once the momentum was with us we just steamrolled sides week in week out home and away ⚔️
