Sheffield United have shared a photo of Oli McBurnie to celebrate his birthday.
Although he hasn’t hit the same heights he enjoyed with his old club Swansea, McBurnie has still bagged four goals for Chris Wilder’s side this season, and he is the club’s second-highest goalscorer at the time of writing (BBC).
The 24-year-old scored his most recent goal for the Blades in the 1-0 win over West Ham United at Bramall Lane, finishing from close range after John Fleck took advantage of a stray pass from goalkeeper David Martin (BBC).
The Scottish international has played in a variety of different positions so far, and it is fair to say he has put in a shift all over the pitch. Indeed, the forward has taken 1.5 shots per game, averaged at least 1 tackle, and made more than 1 clearance on average in the Premier League.
Wilder’s side are currently seventh in the table, tied with Wolverhampton Wanderers on 43 points, and only 2 points behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.
No doubt supporters will be hoping McBurnie can continue to contribute to the team as the Blades resume their pursuit of European football later this month.
Unsurprisingly, loads of United fans gushed over the club’s tweet, with one fan tweeting McBurnie is an “unsung hero” in recognition of his contributions, and another adding he is a “true Blade.”
