Sheffield United: Fans happy as club announce Michael Verrips signing

Ahead of the new season, it was an exciting deadline day for Sheffield United fans.

The Blades announced two late arrivals in the form of Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic on a season-long loan as well as Dutch goalkeeper Michael Verrips on a free transfer (per BBC Sport).

The duo rounded up Chris Wilder’s summer recruitment up to 10 players, with the Sheffield United boss breaking the club’s transfer record on four different occasions (per the Guardian).

Despite re-signing Manchester United ‘keeper Dean Henderson for the season again, the Blades manager still saw it fit to bolster the club’s goalkeeping options heading into the new Premier League season in the form of Verrips, and fans were happy with the free signing of the 22-year-old and took to social media to welcome the new addition.
