Loads of Sheffield United fans love what Ben Osborn had to say ahead of their FA Cup fifth round tie against Reading this week.
The 25-year-old joined the Blades from Nottingham Forest for £3.51 million in the summer (Transfermarkt), but has struggled for game time at Bramall Lane so far.
Indeed, he has featured just 10 times in all competitions including four starts, none of which came in the Premier League (Transfermarkt). However, he did manage to play 45 minutes in their most recent outing against Brighton & Hove Albion after replacing Enda Stevens at half-time in that game.
The former England under-20 international has admitted that not getting as many minutes as he would have liked has been tough, but also said that he understands why Chris Wilder has rarely made changes to his line-up this season and that if he were in his manager’s position he would have taken the same approach (@SheffieldUnited).
Osborn’s attitude has been praised by many Blades fans, who love the fact that he is supportive of Wilder and his team mates despite not playing as much as he would have liked. One even described him as the “new Richard Stearman,” possibly alluding to the fact that he was often a back-up option last season but never sulked and always played well when called upon.
Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
I’ve got a lot of time for Osborn! He’s a nailed on “Wilder player”

Great attitude. Competing with Fleck and Stevens for a starting place always tough but looked good when brought on against Brighton.

Seems like he’s really got his head screwed on. No sulking. Just works hard and does a job when asked too.

It’s a squad that wins things.
