Sheffield United: Fans react to Dean Henderson transfer update

Sheffield United: Fans react to Dean Henderson transfer update - Sheffield United

Dean Henderson has made quite the impact during his spell at Sheffield United.

Is Chris Wilder too harsh on his teams sometimes?

The 22-year-old goalkeeper initially joined the club on loan from Manchester United for the 2018/19 season and was a key man as the Blades won automatic promotion from the Championship, keeping 21 clean sheets and winning the Golden Glove award.

He has since rejoined the South Yorkshire club for a second loan spell in the Premier League this term, where once again he has been impressive overall despite his recent error against Liverpool.

Henderson has helped the Blades to eight points from their opening seven matches, keeping two clean sheets and making 21 saves in that time.

He is extremely highly thought of at Bramall Lane, both by the fans and manager Chris Wilder who recently described him as the “best young goalkeeper in the country.”

They would have been intrigued to learn therefore, that there is a possibility that Manchester United may be willing to allow the young stopper to leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis next summer for around £20m.

Should the Blades stay up, then they would surely be interested in buying Henderson if he becomes available, assuming that he is within their price range. (via the Sun)

The Sheffield United fans would certainly love to see the England under-21 international pen a long-term deal with the club, with several on Twitter suggesting that they should sign him whatever the cost.

Here is how some fans have reacted to the news that Henderson may be available next summer…
