Sheffield United: Fans split on potentially signing Kalvin Phillips - Sheffield United

Sheffield United are interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the summer transfer window, that is according to a report from The Sun.

A move is likely to depend on two things, however. The first is if the Blades manage to qualify for either the Champions League or Europa League, whilst the other is whether Leeds earn promotion from the Championship. If Chris Wilder’s side do reach Europe and the Whites do not go up, then the South Yorkshire outfit hope to prize the 24-year-old away from Elland Road.

It is thought that Phillips would cost upwards of £20 million and Sheffield United could face competition for his signature from both Wolves and Burnley. The midfielder has been a mainstay in Marcelo Bielsa’s team this season, starting in 30 Championship games and on average winning 4.5 ground duels per game whilst also playing 1.9 key passes per match too (SofaScore).

Despite those impressive stats, however, it seems that the Blades fans are divided when it comes to potentially signing Phillips. Some think that he would be an excellent addition, whilst others aren’t as keen mainly due to the fact that they already have plenty of midfielders including the likes of Oliver Norwood, John Fleck, John Lundstram and Sander Berge.

Here is what some supporters have said about it on Twitter…
