Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram has been named in the Premier League Team of the Week following his performance against Tottenham Hotspur (via @SheffieldUnited).
The team, which was selected by ex-England international Alan Shearer, also features the likes of Jamie Vardy, Marcus Rashford and Andrew Robertson.
Lundstram played the full 90 minutes for the Blades as they earned a credible 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (Transfermarkt).
He had a very good game in midfield, and went close to scoring when he hit the post in the first half. He also managed to play one key pass, make five successful tackles, two clearances and one interception in the match, and finished with a passing accuracy of 87% (via WhoScored).
His performance caught the eye of Shearer who included him in his best 11 performers of the 12th weekend of the 2019/20 season.
It is actually the second week in a row that the 25-year-old has been named in the Team of the Week, after also being picked alongside teammate Enda Stevens following Sheffield United’s 3-0 win over Burnley last weekend.
You can’t really argue with Lundstram being named in the team, given that he produced another excellent Premier League performance at the weekend and helped Sheffield United to another big result.
It has been some season so far for the former Everton man, who has become a regular for the Blades despite barely playing for them in the Championship last season.
