Sheffield United: These fans swoon over ace who could play ‘Duffy role’

Many Sheffield United fans swooned over the performance of Luke Freeman in the Blades’ 2-1 win over Championship club Reading in the FA Cup round-of-sixteen last night.
Freeman achieved a 7.5 rating on Sofascore, second highest in the Blades team behind MOTM Ben Osborn (7.9). The midfielder provided the assist for the winning goal by Billy Sharp in extra-time, and also achieved the highest passing accuracy (94%), number of duels won (25), ground duels (19) out of any other player on the pitch. He also attempted the most dribbles (6) and crosses (12) and was fouled the most times (3), highlighting a quality all-round performance.
Some Blades fans want to see him given more of a chance in the team now, with one suggesting he could play a ‘Duffy role‘, referring to player Mark Duffy occupying the number-ten position the club’s promotion-winning campaign last season. These fans swooned over Freeman’s performance:

My point exactly would even love to see freeman in a “Duffy role” with fleck and Norwood slightly deeper play as well as that got to play

Easy MOM for me.
Did well in a couple of different positions.
Would love us to play same shape as last season at some point with him in the Duffy No.10 role between Oli/Fleck and front 2 #twitterblades— Maxydee (@MaxydeeMax) March 4, 2020
I’d love to see him play more often, fantastic player. I reckon he’d start all the time if he was right footed

He’s a class act like a few more squad players but he’s very unlucky in the fact the team are playing out of there skins and no injuries.

Gotta start against Norwich. Fleck, Norwood, Freeman midfield. Nevermind that’s he’s left footed, comes in for Berge/Lundstram.
