Sheffield United vs Watford: Amazon Prime match preview

Sheffield United vs Watford: Amazon Prime match preview - Sheffield United

An intriguing encounter is set to take place in South Yorkshire this Christmas as two teams with opposite fortunes in 2019/2020 go head-to-head.

On the one hand, you have Chris Wilder’s newly-promoted Sheffield United who are remarkably knocking on the door of the top four at the halfway stage of the campaign in fifth, above the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Watford, with their third manager since the start of August, have endured a torrid time of it and face the challenge of having to recover from bottom at Christmas to safety in the second half of the season.

The Hornets did, however, give themselves a glimmer of hope by defeating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils in matchday 18, though the Blades also won last time out to collect their third league triumph in succession.

The hosts are the outright favourites for the Boxing Day 3pm encounter but we know Nigel Pearson’s men can shock.
