Without a doubt, Dean Henderson has been one of the standout goalkeepers in the Premier League this season.
With 10 to his name, only Burnley’s Nick Pope (11) has kept more clean sheets than the Sheffield United shot-stopper. He also has a penalty save to his name, which came against current champions Manchester City, to really put the icing on the cake.
Taking all of that into account, it is hardly a surprise that Henderson is starting to attract attention — and from some very big clubs who are currently playing in the Champions League.
According to The Telegraph, both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the 23-year-old. Such a development, however, should not cause the Blades to give up hope as they look to get another loan deal for the player over the line.
PSG already have a very capable No.1 in Keylor Navas and signed Marcin Bulka from Chelsea last summer, so it is unlikely that Henderson is a priority for them right now. As for Bulka’s former club, Manchester United will probably want to avoid doing business with one of their rivals and an outfit that they have been in direct competition with this season.
Will Dean Henderson still be at Bramall Lane next season?
The Red Devils do, of course, also have the option to keep Henderson at Old Trafford. However, with David de Gea around, that would make little sense.
Furthermore, a third consecutive spell at Bramall Lane could be on the cards here and do not be surprised to see just that come the summer. European football could be coming to the ground, while Henderson has really thrived under Chris Wilder, making an extension of his loan a logical move.
