Sheffield Wednesday should add some pace to their line-up and sign this Everton youngster

Sheffield Wednesday got their season off to a bad start last weekend, with a 1-0 defeat to Preston already setting some panic stations in motion across Owls fans.

At the time of writing, the Owls were preparing for a home test against QPR, days after coming out 4-1 winners in their league cup tie with Chesterfield in midweek.

The Wednesday fans here in the Tavern have been nervy all summer though, concerned about their apparent lack of spending compared to recent years, with worries also surrounding the form of record capture Jordan Rhodes.

However, our landlord thinks that they aren’t too far off being a top of the table contender, adding that a little bit of pace in the squad could go a long way to appease any worries fans might have.

One player he thinks could do the business is current Everton and England youngster Ademola Lookman.

The teenager, signed from Charlton last season, impressed towards the back end of the campaign as Ronald Koeman showed faith in his young players to see them home towards the end of May.

However, with Everton spending big this summer, Lookman might well see his chances limited this time out. A spell in the Championship could do him the world of good though, and the Owls are a club who could do with some pace in their ranks, which Lookman has in abundance.

A loan move could well happen, and he would surely go down a treat with the Hillsborough faithful if given the opportunity.

Owls fans, what do you think? Good signing? Give us your thoughts!
