‘Should have been sacked’ – Everton fans not happy with veteran’s comments

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from their 33-year-old centre-back, Ashley Williams via Sky Sports. The Welshman has summed up Everton’s season this season with his performances as he’s failed to impress. The ex-Swansea man was dropped following his dismissal on March 3rd away at Burnley as the Toffees fell to a 2-1 defeat.

Williams is set to play in his third season at Goodison Park after signing for the Merseyside club from Swansea in summer 2016. The experienced defender made his move after a superb summer with Wales in 2016 saw Chris Coleman’s side become semi-finalists in France. Since then he’s made 73 appearances for Everton and will be looking forward to seeing a new manager come in as he looks to revive his Everton career.

Marco Silva is one of the managers leading the way to becoming the next boss at Goodison Park following Sam Allardyce’s departure from the club after not even a full season in charge. The former England manager was criticised for his style of football by the Everton fans as they finished in a meagre 8th, despite being touted to crack the top six following what looked at the time like a promising summer window.
