The Manchester City fans were celebrating in the Transfer Tavern last night after their local-rival’s dropped points at home to Burnley in the Premier League.
Manchester United lost further ground in the race for the title yesterday afternoon as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sean Dyche’s valiant Burnley side at Old Trafford. Considering United’s result will give Manchester City the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table to a startling 15 points against Newcastle this evening, it is about time for Mourinho and the rest of the club to accept that the so called race for top-spot is now nothing more than a foregone conclusion.
United dominated for large spells against Burnley, but they struggled to turn their territorial advantage into goals and a well-needed 3 points.
Jesse Lingard struck twice in the second-half to salvage a point for the Red Devils after they had found themselves 2 goals down at the interval at home for the first time this season.
In the aftermath of proceedings, Jose Mourinho could not hide his disappointment at the result despite needing a 91st minute equaliser to avoid defeat.
When questioned about United’s transfer policy and spending in recent years, United’s controversial manager claimed that the club had not spent enough money to compete at the same level as their local-rivals Manchester City.

Unsurprisingly, Mourinho’s bold opinion has left the Manchester City fans in hysteria on Twitter.
Here’s what The Citizens faithful had to say about Mourinho’s post-match comments…
