Our regulars are scratching their heads here in the Football Transfer Tavern as London24 claim that Alvaro Negredo could be sold by Valencia despite the club only just agreeing to buy him from Manchester City for £24 million.
Basically, Valencia had to buy the forward as part of their loan agreement with City, but have apparently told the forward that he can leave if the right offer comes in for him, leaving our landlord to question if the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal will once again show an interest in the forward.
We think that Negredo is a quality player, but he has certainly had bouts of bad luck since joining City, and with the right club, we think he could be back to his best and terrorise defences once more.
Valencia are determined to recoup all of their money if they do sell, so he would not come cheap, but we think it could well be a risk worth taking.
Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern feels that Liverpool should make a move for the Spaniard, and feel an addition of his calibre who go a long way in improving their form next season!
Manchester city fans. Will you miss Negredo? Let us know your thoughts below!
