‘Should step in for Can’ – Liverpool fans demand return of scapegoated star for Huddersfield clash

The resident Kopites are feeling deeply frustrated by their club’s lack of activity in the transfer market this month, but they are turning their attention away from transfers and focusing on Jurgen Klopp’s team selection ahead of their clash with Huddersfield this evening.

Liverpool travel to The John Smiths Stadium this evening on the back of consecutive domestic defeats against Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion. After becoming the first side to defeat Manchester City in the Premier League this season, it appeared as if Liverpool had turned a corner in their development, but their results that followed proved that The Reds remain as consistently inconsistent as ever.

Jurgen Klopp will be demanding a vast improvement from his players tonight when they face a tricky looking fixture against a Huddersfield side who came within minutes of claiming a point against Man City, and also managed to record a historic victory over Manchester United.

Prior to their fixture, the Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss Klopp’s potential starting line-up and suggested some changes of their own. And one selection the fans are particularly keen advocates of is the return of Jordan Henderson in central midfield to replace Emre Can.

Liverpool’s captain has been strongly criticised throughout the season so far, but it seems that the supporters are willing to give him another chance in the first-team following a pair of lacklustre performances from Can in their two most recent fixtures.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Henderson’s potential involvement this evening…
