The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperately hoping that Jurgen Klopp can secure some new signings for the club this month.
The resident Kopites in the tavern are concerned that Klopp’s failure to replace Coutinho in the January window could result in Liverpool’s failure to qualify for the Champions League. Since the Brazilian’s departure, the supporters on Twitter have been patiently waiting for an official announcement of a marquee signing to fill the void left by Coutinho, however, they were greeted with the announcement of a different nature altogether on Friday.
Liverpool announced via their official Twitter page that Ryan Kent has moved to promotion-chasing Bristol City for the rest of the season .
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) January 12, 2018
Kent recently returned from a relatively unsuccessful stint at SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga, in which he made only 7 appearances for the club during his loan move – only one of which was from the outset.
The 21-year-old winger will be hoping for a vastly improved spell in The Championship after his hugely disappointing time in Germany, and the Liverpool supporters were keen to offer him some words of encouragement ahead of his new challenge.
However, the vast majority of supporters used the club post as an opportunity to call for the announcement of new signings this month, with the likes of Naby Keita, Antoine Griezmann, Alexis Sanchez and Riyad Mahrez all getting a mention.
Here’s how The Reds faithful reacted to the news that Kent has joined Bristol City on loan…
