Arsenal could be on for a surprisingly good season following their impressive signings this summer.
Unai Emery’s Arsenal revolution has kicked off to a great start as the Gunners have been quick to address their problems. Towards the back, Arsenal have added experience and quality in defence and in goal but could still do with added some pace and power on the wing.
According to The Sun, Arsenal have joined Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Man City in the race for the winger.
The 20-year-old Rennes ace impressed at the World Cup and has now attracted interest from a host of clubs.
A product of the famed FC Metz academy – which has produced Robert Pires and Miralem Pjanic – Ismaila Sarr joined Stade Rennais last year where he played 24 games in the league, scoring five goals and five assists.
Likened to Ousmane Dembele by his agent, Sarr possesses incredible pace and has the rare ability to beat defenders with ease. While he would likely command a £50 million fee, the Senegalese star, would be an instant upgrade on the likes of Alex Iwobi or Lucas Perez. Neither of the two Arsenal wingers possesses the pace and skill of Sarr. Both like to come inside which at times, can make Arsenal far too narrow in the final third.
At 20-years-old, Sarr hasn’t played a tonne of first-team football as of yet but Arsenal need to bring him in now before Real Madrid or Barcelona start to circle.
