Heading into this season, Everton made significant signings for the wide positions in Richarlison and Bernard.

The addition of the Brazilian duo, however, does not appear to be enough for manager Marco Silva who could now look to bring in one of their compatriots to further strengthen that area of the Toffees' squad.

The Breakdown

According to Marca, Everton are interested in signing Malcom, a former target, from Barcelona this month with the 21-year-old currently on the fringes of Ernesto Valverde's squad.

And with the Merseyside club potentially offering Malcom a way out of his difficult predicament at the Camp Nou following his move there from Bordeaux last summer, it is not hard to imagine a transfer, which would be a very good one for Silva, materialising.

£36m-rated (Transfermarkt) Malcom would be a massive upgrade on Theo Walcott on that right-hand side with the Corinthians youth product possessing so much more technical ability in comparison.

The fact that he is left footed and can cut in already gives him the edge considering that is how most modern-day coaches want their wingers to play, while his dribbling and overall footwork are far superior to that of Walcott's.

In an ideal world, Everton supporters would like to see a new centre-forward brought in above anything else. But a player of Malcom's quality does come around too often for an outfit such as the Toffees. His potential availability is something the club would be wise to try and take advantage of.
