The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted to see their side progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side bounced back from a humbling defeat in the North-London derby to claim an impressive victory away at Borussia Dortmund earlier this week. Despite falling behind in the first-half after Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang had drilled a low-effort beyond the reach of Hugo Lloris, Tottenham dug deep and turned the game around in the second-half courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. The win confirmed that Tottenham will progress as winners of Group H with a game to spare.

Indeed, the Tottenham fans lining up the bar here were delighted with the group-victory after they watched their side fail to qualify from the group stage last season.
Tottenham’s impressive form this year has not gone unnoticed by UEFA who have placed 4 of their players on a 50 man shortlist for the official UEFA Fan’ Team of the Year.
And the club were pleased to announce the news via their Twitter page yesterday.
Spurs players have been nominated for selection in the UEFA Fans’ Team of the Year.

Although The Lilywhites faithful were happy to see their players receive official recognition for their performances, they were baffled by Jan Vertonghen’s omission from the shortlist.
Aside from that, the general feeling amongst the supporters is that Harry Kane should certainly be making it into the UEFA team and that Davinson Sanchez has been a revelation since his move from Ajax.
Here’s what the fans had to say in response to the post…
Awesome that @daosanchez26 is getting his due. Def our best signing of the season.

Fair play to sanchez, but it is unreal how underrated Jan Vertonghen is.

I am actually a little surprised Hugo has not been nominated. He has had some fantastic Champions League performances.

How did Eriksen and Alli get in there? Neither have had outstanding seasons for Spurs so far. Should be Kane, Jan, Sanchez and maybe Davies.
