The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see some big names move to North London. Though the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane have helped raise Tottenham’s profile in recent years, a major signing or two could make all the difference.
Our landlord, then, thinks that a move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala – who is rated at £99 million by Transfer Markt – would be a perfect transfer.
Beyond everything that Dybala would be able to do as the poster boy for the team, the attacker’s quality on the field is unbelievable.
Best used as a number 10, he’d be able to pull the strings to devastating effect behind Harry Kane, whilst he’d also chip in with regular goals of his own. More of a shadow striker than an advanced playmaker, the Argentine’s quality on the ball is second-to-none, and the impact he has going forward would be huge.
In particular, he’d be fantastic alongside likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. That duo have been the main driving force for Spurs in recent years, and throwing in another attacker would make sense. Not only would it take the emphasis off of them, but it would, naturally, make them even more effective.
He’d also be able to do what others have failed in that he’d be able to deputise for Kane when required due to his versatility, and so a move for Dybala would tick two boxes for the club.
Granted, a move for the Argentine would likely be Tottenham’s most expensive ever, but he could return that commitment and then some with his form on the field.
