Manchester United lost out last week in the Manchester derby and there’s many in football who think the title race is now over, with the Red Devils sitting too far behind local rivals City.
Manager Jose Mourinho has done a decent job overall though, and despite City romping clear at the top, many of the United fans here in the Tavern remain happy enough with the progress the club are making under the Portuguese coach.
Our landlord here at the Tavern thinks United need to concentrate now on ensuring they are in a good position to challenge closer to City over the next few seasons, and he thinks adding a few exciting, talented players to the squad in January could be key.
One player who has been impressing this season who he thinks could be the next superstar for United is Bordeaux winger Malcolm, who has been lighting up the French league this season with some scintillating performances.
He already has seven goals to his name this term, while also notching four assists, and at just 20-years-old, he really does look to have the world at his feet if he can continue his excellent progress.
United are renowned over the years for their impressive wingers, and not since the days of Cristiano Ronaldo have the club had someone in wide areas who can tear any defence to shreds. Malcolm could well be that man should United choose to make their move.
Red Devils, what do you think to Malcolm? Good signing? Let us know!
