Arsenal are expected to have a quiet transfer window this month with funds currently limited.

That, however, has not stopped a host of names from being linked with a move to the Emirates including the promising Marcus Thuram.

The Breakdown

According to the Sun, Arsenal, alongside Premier League rivals Tottenham and Manchester United, are all interested in Thuram, the son of France legend Lilian Thuram, sending scouts to go watch the Guingamp forward.

With that in mind, competition is quite clearly fierce for Thuram who has impressed this season after scoring seven goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances.

Arsenal, though, are the team who could really do with the addition of Thuram. Signing a player of his potential could bring some excitement to the Emirates during a period of the season where supporters have had little to cheer about.

But most importantly, the Gunners would be bringing in a player who could add some depth and real quality out wide, an area of the squad where they are currently lacking.

It remains to be seen just how strong Arsenal's interest in the 21-year-old is and whether they have the finances to sign him this month -- probably not based on Emery's words -- but whatever the case, he would be a clever capture for the club.
