Everton fans here in the Tavern are hoping for a better season next time round, as they flirted with the possibility of relegation and struggled to compete with the top-six.
Indeed, the Toffees will be desperate to improve over the course of the summer transfer window, with Marco Silva possibly looking to secure a European place next season. And, it looks as if the newly-appointed manager is already looking at potential signings, as according to the Mirror, Marco Silva and Marcel Brands have drawn up a short-list of transfer targets, with Victor Lindelof being the priority.
Interestingly, it’s understood that Everton boss Marco Silva wants Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof at Goodison Park.
Silva, who was installed as the Toffees new head coach last week, has drawn up a short-list of transfer targets with new director of football Marcel Brands. And, he’s earmarked 23-year old centre-back Lindelof as a priority £35 million signing, but this all depends on whether United will consider selling the Swedish international.
There’s no suggestion Jose Mourinho wants to ditch the Swede so soon after signing him and it’s believed that insiders at United’s Carrington training base say the central defender will be given another season to reach the levels of consistency demanded by the Portuguese boss.
So, it looks as if Everton will do everything they can to sign Victor Lindelof this summer after identifying him as their priority signing. However, with Jose Mourinho supposedly looking to keep him at Old Trafford this summer, the Toffees may have to look elsewhere.
