Silva should give Lookman and Davies a chance against Newcastle

Everton failed to bring any points back to Goodison Park at the weekend as they conceded a last-gasp goal against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

The Toffees will be desperate to return to winning ways having enjoyed a rich vein of form in recent times, with their European dream still very much alive.

Interestingly, Everton will welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park tonight in their next Premier League fixture. The Magpies were thumped at home by West Ham United last time out, so Marco Silva will be looking to let all of his side’s Merseyside derby frustrations out by battering Rafa Benitez’s side.

Of course, with the Toffees facing a busy schedule, perhaps Silva will think about giving a couple of youngsters a chance in the side, to provide regular first-team members with rest.

Therefore, Everton will batter Newcastle if these TWO youngsters get a chance…

ADEMOLA LOOKMAN

Ademola Lookman has struggled to work his way into Marco Silva’s plans at Goodison Park in the current campaign, with just nine appearances to his name in all competitions.

The Englishman was brought off the substitutes’ bench against Liverpool at the weekend and went on to have a huge impact on proceedings, with his pace and skill causing the Reds all kinds of problems.

Therefore, with a Newcastle United side that have struggled to ensure solidity at the back coming up next, Silva should unleash Lookman on Benitez’s side to cause them major problems.

TOM DAVIES

Tom Davies was a regular feature in the side towards the start of this season, but Andre Gomes’ return to full fitness has halted his progress as he continues to stagnate on the substitutes’ bench.

There’s no doubt that the 20-year-old is one of the most promising midfielders in the whole of English football, having captain Everton in four games this season and with a number of appearances to his name at England Under-21 level.

Idrissa Gueye struggled to have an impact on proceedings in the Merseyside derby as Gomes stole the show, so Davies should be given a chance to showcase his talents tonight.
