The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern think that Jose Mourinho will need every last member of his squad between now and the end of the season. Owing to the success in the first-half of the campaign, Man Utd are set to face a pretty challenging few months as the 2017/18 season reaches its climax.
Man Utd are still in the Champions League, FA Cup and in the hunt for the Premier League title – and so between now and the end of the season, every single game counts.
Next up on the agenda for the Red Devils is a trip to Newcastle, and ahead of the game, whilst Jose Mourinho has confirmed that a key duo will miss the game, he has provided some good news for the Red Devils.
According to Mourinho, both Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the game, but in the case of the latter, there is a silver lining. Mourinho has noted that Ibrahimovic has returned to first-team training – having sufficiently recovered from his latest injury blow.

It’s certainly a loss not to have either player available for this clash, but the note on Ibrahimovic is important.
Whilst he won’t be fit to feature over the next week or two, Ibrahimovic’s return to training does suggest that a full return is on the horizon. Given the impending return of the Champions League, Man Utd will be desperate to get their trophy-laden forward back in contention – and it seems as though he’ll be back at just the right time.
Ibrahimovic’s return will be crucial. He’s one of the few players in the Man Utd first team with genuine experience at the highest level for a consistent period of time, and so his role cannot be understated.
Not to mention, the threat that he provides in front of goal could also be key.
The update on Bailly is somewhat more concerning, but the fact that the Red Devils have no other major concerns is good news.
