Liverpool signed Alisson in the summer to solve their goalkeeping options and turn them into a steady unit at the back as they look to challenge for title honours.
There was no doubt that the Reds had the attacking abilities to ‘score one more’ than their opponents in the majority of their matches, however, some suspect goalkeeping had seen them struggle at times.
Alisson was signed to replace Loris Karius, who was shipped out on loan to Besiktas, whilst Simon Mignolet was kept on the bench as his cover option – despite there being claims he wanted to leave.
And, it appears the Belgium international may finally have the chance to depart from Anfield in the winter, should Jurgen Klopp allow a move to happen.
According to Het Belang van Limburg, via Sport Witness, Mignolet is wanted by French side Nice as Patrick Vieira wants to boost his options at the number one position and sees the 30-year-old as his main priority.
However, with Karius and Danny Ward both no longer at the club, it remains to be seen if Klopp will allow the Belgian to go.
There is no doubt that Mignolet wants to end his Anfield career and a move to Nice would be good for the goalkeeper.
The shot-stopper has found the last couple of seasons difficult at Liverpool, as he has been in and out of the team and will want to get back to playing regular football.
However, with their goalkeeping options having been depleted during the summer, it remains to be seen if Klopp will sanction a move in January, although they do have Kamil Grabara in waiting.
