Arsenal fans have woken up on Monday morning with a few nasty hangovers, after a weekend celebrating the North London derby win over Tottenham in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Any victory over north London rivals Spurs at White Hart Lane is always satisfying, but the quality of the winning goal from Tomas Rosicky, and the fact the result put the Gunners firmly back in the title race, made it even sweeter.
It was all doom and gloom a fortnight ago after the 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium, but an FA Cup quarter-final win over Everton, and a positive display at the world’s best club side Bayern Munich has got Arsenal fans feeling a whole lot better.
And a 1-0 win at White Hart Lane, coupled with Chelsea’s slip up at Aston Villa, has ensured Arsenal fans are set for an exciting finish to the season.
There are still a few disgruntled voices that reckon the Gunners could have had it wrapped up already, had Wenger splashed some cash in January.
Arsenal were by far and away the best team in the division up until December, but now look set for a four way fight to the finish with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Wenger will claim his failure to spend in January wasn’t for the want of trying, with the Gunners being linked with a host of top players, some of which they are set to return for in the summer when they have money to spend.
Here we take a look at who a few of them may be.
