It’s been a disappointing week for Tottenham supporters, who have continued to drown their sorrows in the Football Transfer Tavern following last Sunday’s tame 0-2 home defeat to Stoke City.
The result has left Pochettino’s side 12th in the Premier League table, with 14 points from their opening 11 Premier League games of the season, which have included home defeats to Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United and now Stoke.
That prompted the White Hart Lane crowd to turn on their side last Sunday, and Emmanuel Adebayor has done little to help the cause by slating the Spurs fans in the press, insisting it is easier for the current side to play away from their own supporters.
If Pochettino was unaware of the challenge he faced to turn things around at White Hart Lane in the summer, then he certainly will be now.
Surely the Argentine coach will be asking Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy for some additional funds to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window, with the seven signings from the summer of 2013 still yet to make any real impact – Christian Eriksen aside perhaps.
Here, we have gone through the rumours and idenfied five players we think will be on Pochettino’s winter transfer wishlist.
